He aint heavy, he’s not my brother.
April 12, 2005So, back to the drawing board.
Tom Thomas of Ohio is not my brother.
They had just received my letter.
His wife called for him last night.
Kind, sincere. Just wanted me to know right away.
So I could keep looking.
I wonder why he didn’t call.
Some man thing I suppose.
“No, you do it. I don’t want to call her.”
Anyway. She says his father died a couple of years ago.
His name was not Earl Clinton Thomas.
Maybe I’ll post a search for him on people site.
Or wait to hear how Aunt Leora is handling the whole,
“hey I’m your long lost lesbian niece” thing.
Then ask her about siblings.
Odd that she had told me Tom lived in Ohio though.
Maybe it is him. Maybe the wife lied for him.
I can only guess and I don’t much feel like guessing today.
I think I will wait for Leora’s reply.
My head hurts.

Hi! I read your post on TLL and then came over to read your journal … I met my birth father last year. What a shock for him - a 37 year old daughter he didn’t know he had. Then, he finds out she’s a lesbian. Then, she has black children. When I met his sister and told her that, she said, “Well, no one in this family is all that conventional!” I hope you find your brother.
