It was art day today because we put it off for
one of my students to go with her hubby
to doctors appointments.
So If you count my two week time away and this
late day this week. These women were hungry for art
and Mosaic art to be exact.
As I started the day my apathy for it all was evident,
but as I helped Jill place and fiddle with pieces,
As I taught technique to score and break glass,
it found me. My Mojo that they stole with my gallbladder.
It was there all along.
And so plans formed as the day progressed. Ideas came.
The 2 1/2 foot cone will have a spiral of a yellow brick road
winding it’s way to the top. Vines and leaves will fill in the
background. Maybe a flower or twenty.
There is an image of a reclining silouhette in my head.
I want her by a stream. I have to go and draw her.
I added the “morning Dip” image to another faux stone
and cut the yellow glass for the cone.
All was right and good.

Right here, earlier when I wrote this I put good news
that a piece might have been sold. Once I told her
(a friend here in Georgia we see often, that’s all I’m saying…)
the discounted price for a friend was 475.00 down
from 550.00 off the website, she decided it was too rich
for her tastes I guess. So up and then down, push and pull.
Somedays you love me, somedays you don’t.
I do so grow weary of it all. Love me everyday damn it.
ah well, Someone will want it someday.
Until then. I do.

I started the day cranky. Jan got up for work at 5:45 as usual
and turned off her alarm. But not really as it went off again
a few minutes later. At that point I am up for the day really.
I was rude and walked sleepy eyed to the office where she
sat reading email and waking up. Just oblivious to why I was up.
I snarled, “you have had that alarm clock for a year, please
learn how to use it soon”… or something like that.
Jan will correct me I am sure!
Then Kate was supposed to have a ride to her driving classes
in the next town over. Her grandparents told them that if they
would pay for the classes they would drive them.
But it rained this morning and he can not see well if it is dark,
rainy, etc… My car had the top down and was in the garage
all snug and warm. I couldn’t put the top up inside the garage
and it was a monsoon outside, so I had to drive Kate’s.
Which made me more snarly, (no cd player LOL)
I ended up taking Hilary to work and Kate to the class which is
near Jan’s work. Jan forgot her lunch on the table and I tried to
get it to her but by the time I reached Kate’s drop off place
I only had ten minutes to make it back to Hilary’s work
before she would be late. In the rain. A drive that takes all of 15
on a good day. She was a few minutes late.
Jan had to eat hospital food today I guess. I cant fix everything.
So it all left me bitchy and not wanting to do anything. I am glad
I sucked it up and got back to work anyway.

The kids have many men friends who frequent here and
several female ones too. But most of the females are off
to college. Tiffany is a funky fun girl that has become
dear to us over these years. I cant really say who’s friend
she is. They were all in school together.
She always searches me out when she is here.
The last time she came home pierced and tatooed and
showed each one to us. Declaring again that she is gay.
“Do You remember me?” she will say each time.
“Yes Tiff! I love you!”, I reply and she falls into my arms for
my hug. “Oh, I love you Annie” she cries.
She looks at me in the way I have adored mentors in the past.
I see me in her. She is an artist; a feminist. Young and full of life.
Strong and loud, gentle and shy. Easily hurt and just as easy to
forgive.
She, me.
same same same.
I get it. I get her.
I will never not be here for her.
I’m going down to work for a couple of hours.
I am filled again with the passion for it all.
Have a good weekend all.
You can see the ballerina in her new home here:
Ully’s Art
I feel honored to have an art piece of mine in her home.
She is an amazing artist!
