G = Genuine
August 4, 2008It’s really the best way to describe her.
She is as kind and gentle as anyone I have known.
There is a peace that she emits. Settling nerves,
allowing you to feel the same. Easy to talk to and just
as interested in your stuff as she is in telling her own.
Laura is, sigh…as she ever was, wonderful, fun, lovely,
just so perfectly her. She is happy with life.
Here and there you find things she has prepared for us.
Our room, just so. Piles of reading materials laid for us to
read and decide what we would like to do on any given day.
As we arrived, lunch was served, far too fancy, in the
dining room. We talked, an easy talk where no one needed
to search for the next topic. Then off for Jan’s first boat ride.
Just heaven really. The sun on the water, the boat simply
amazingly large and lovely. You can see the work they put
into it. Preparing for their winter aboard it.
I sat and closed my eyes, listening to G and Jan talk about fishing.
Listening to Laura right there two feet from me. Soaking it in.
Committing each moment to memory so that it will last a long time.
I saw pictures of the kids yesterday, grown now. And my eyes welled
with tears that no one saw but Jan. The many years missed for me
of watching them grow hitting home.
Back home for a steak dinner and more conversation.
Early to bed for us all, me falling asleep almost immediately.
Waking at 4 for no known reason. I am unable to get back to sleep
and so here I am on the back deck. WIFI going perfectly strong.
Writing to you all because I know you care just as genuinely.
Thank you all, for it all.
Pictures… more later.

Me and that is G’s back there too!
Will upload to flickr later.
Have a great day!

It’s been sent! Thanks for posting some pics. I am SO happy to hear that this is exactly what you need. Wrap yourself in those feelings, like a warm, soft blanket. These are memories that will last a lifetime!
I really enjoy reading your blog. There’s just something relaxing about it, not sure what it is really. But I’ll keep reading. Love the photos, makes me want to go fishing.
I’m so happy for you!!!! Keep having a great time!
Hi honey! I’m glad you’re having a lovely time. Rest easy and breathe it all in my dear. Peace.
So happy that your trip is going well. Laura sounds like a neat person. The picture of you on the boat with your eyes closed is fabulous. You look so relaxed. Happy and safe travels!
Beautiful couple.
